DEFINITION OF RESPITE
Respite care is short-term care that helps a family take a break from the daily routine and stress. Respite care can occur in the person’s / family home or in a variety of out-of-home settings, and can occur for any length of time depending on the needs of the family and available resources.
CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS recognise that the person / child and family members both need to avail of respite care services in order to maintain physical and emotional wellbeing.
AIMS OF CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS RESPITE SERVICES
CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS aims to provide FLEXIBLE RESPITE for clients and their families when required, in order to maintain physical and emotional wellbeing. The respite service provides a break for both carers and service users, and may also provide opportunities for personal development and social interaction. needs for respite vary from planned breaks and holidays to emergency intervention.

CLASSIFICATION OF CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS RESPITE SERVICES
CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS has classified the respite care service into the following 5 categories:
- Childrens respite.
- Youth Respite Services. (YAP)
- Emergency Respite Service.
- PA Respite Service. (Personal Assistant)
- Elderly respite service.
- Access respite service

Use of a number of self awareness instruments to begin to look at the following ;( this is currently available for our YAP programme)

Other Services
Core Service Providers respite services is part of a continuum of services which includes residential care and community based support services.
Facilities and Location
Core Service Providers have services in the Dublin, Wicklow and Meath areas
We provide care, support and accommodation. People using respite services are supported, in order to take a full part in daily life. This support may include help with personal care needs, advice, counselling and help with ordinary daily living activities.
Schedule of Respite Service
Planned respite breaks for children take place during the school year with longer breaks taking place during school holidays. The services are tailored to the needs of individuals, groups. A range of summer camps, day trips can also be structured. Core service providers flexible respite service offers planned and crisis intervention short term placements with a wide range of support services.

The staff who currently deliver services to clients and their families in the Dublin/Wicklow/Meath area are very experienced workers with a range of qualifications, experience and skills. They have a proven track record of delivering flexible services and successfully engaging with a wide variety of clients. They also have developed positive professional relationships with the referrers and other professionals involved in their cases. This service provides a panel of social care workers who are available to care for persons in need and /or at risk outside of normal working hours.
