How the Access Worker Services operates:

Essentially an access worker service is the provision of a safe environment and setting for children and families to re-establish or maintain the relationship with a non-custodial parent.  First individual needs are identified. The identified need then determines the level of service required (i.e. number of hours and how many access workers each person needs) to enable Core Staffing to provide an adequate service.

 

 

 

What is Core staffing’s Supervised Access Program?

 

The Supervised Access Program offers separated families a safe and secure setting where visits and exchanges can take place under the supervision of trained staff.

 

 

 

For which reasons may Families and Children be referred to the program?

 

  • Unresolved conflict between parents, concerns with parenting ability,
  • Extended absence of a non-custodial parent, history of drug or alcohol abuse,
  • Safety concerns due to a history of violence in the family,

 

What does supervised access do?

 

  • Provide a safe and neutral setting for visits between a child and non-custodial family member.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants, including staff.
  • Provide trained staff who are sensitive to the needs of the child.

 

What does Core Staffing provide?

 

  • Provides the appropriate access workers for access visits.
  • Sources the appropriate location for the access visit
  • Organises the visit.
  • Transport of parties involved
  • Provide follow up report of each visit
  • Risk assessment

  • Facilitate family visits
  • Facilitate sibling visits
  • Facilitate family reunions
  • Take care of other siblings while parent has access
  • Support relationship building

 

 

Staff Training?

 

Core staffing Access Workers are trained to be aware of issues such as family violence, child development, abuse, mental health and substance abuse problems.

Staff must be sensitive to the needs of children, particularly those who are involved in high conflict custody and access disputes. Staff are trained in de-escalation techniques.

 

What will be done?

 

  • Core staffing management with your input will organise an access worker to meet the client
  • Core staffing will tailor to your needs a plan to support your requirements

 

 

Core staffing Safety measures:

 

  • Staff who accompany children at all times during visits
  • Additional staff available as back up
  • A close relationship with the local Gardai
  • Garda clearance for staff

 

 

What hours are access workers available?

 

  • Access workers are available when you need them
  • The time needed is totally at the discretion the client

DEFINITION OF RESPITE

Respite care is short-term care that helps a family take a break from the daily routine and stress. Respite care can occur in the person’s / family home or in a variety of out-of-home settings, and can occur for any length of time depending on the needs of the family and available resources.

CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS recognise that the person / child and family members both need to avail of respite care services in order to maintain physical and emotional wellbeing.


AIMS OF CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS RESPITE SERVICES

CORE SERVICE PROVIDERS aims to provide FLEXIBLE RESPITE for clients and their families when required, in order to maintain physical and emotional wellbeing. The respite service provides a break for both carers and service users, and may also provide opportunities for personal development and social interaction. needs for respite vary from planned breaks and holidays to emergency intervention.

    Other Services

     

    Core Service Providers respite services is part of a continuum of services which includes residential care and community based support services.

     

    Facilities and Location

     

    Core Service Providers have services in the Dublin, Wicklow and Meath areas

    We provide care, support and accommodation. People using respite services are supported, in order to take a full part in daily life. This support may include help with personal care needs, advice, counselling and help with ordinary daily living activities.


     

    Schedule of Respite Service

     

    Planned respite breaks for children take place during the school year with longer breaks taking place during school holidays. The services are tailored to the needs of individuals, groups. A range of summer camps, day trips can also be structured. Core service providers flexible respite service offers planned and crisis intervention short term placements with a wide range of support services.
